ABOUT TWU
Total Woman U started out in 2000 as a ministry entitled "Welcome Home." Founder, Jenny Johnson had been leading a small group for women at her church in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She began writing lessons and planning special, theme-based events for her group which she organized into "Welcome Home." This ministry was designed to encourage and challenge women to be who God had created them to be and live lives of gratitude and confidence. When her family moved to the Atlanta, Georgia area in 2004, Jenny carried this message and ministry with her and she had the opportunity to host several more events for the women at the leadership training company her husband worked for.
Jenny began feeling as though there was more God intended for this ministry. She spent the better part of 2006 meeting with women across the Atlanta area as well as southern Louisiana in order to find out in which areas of their lives they struggled the most and who they turned to for help. It was this research that led her to reorganize Welcome Home into what is now Total Woman U. She had a team of incredible women in the Atlanta area who helped in this endeavor, and they were able to host a few smaller events together before Jenny and her family moved back to Louisiana.
Starting over in a new area, again, wasn't easy, but God soon began opening doors for TWU through the church Jenny and her family began attending after returning to Slidell, Louisiana. Because the message of TWU was one the church embraced, they asked Jenny to begin doing events within their women's ministry. Over the next few years, a new team of leaders emerged which allowed the events to grow and expand out to women all over the community and now reaches women across the southeast.
From the beginning stages in 2000, the vision for Total Woman U has been exciting. It is a huge vision from God that He is in the process of carrying to completion. He is opening new doors all the time for TWU, and as the team grows, new aspects of the vision are able to be explored. We are blessed to be where we are and excited to see where God is taking us.

ABOUT OUR TEAM
Our Faculty is very special to us! These are the ladies who give generously and selflessly of their time, energy and other resources.
Our team of leaders are incredibly talented and giving women with diverse backgrounds, educations and strengths who share a common desire to positively influence women for Jesus. We spend time growing together as a team, we meet together regularly to deepen our spiritual walk, we challenge each other to become better leaders, and we encourage each other on our own personal journeys to become the total women God has created each of us to be.
We started building our Louisiana faculty in 2009 and while some of the faces may have changed through the years, the faithfulness and hard work of those on the Faculty has not. Our Faculty is responsible for writing on our blog, choosing and teaching local studies, as well as leading the other events we offer throughout the year. We also work very hard to create and produce each conference we do. We research, develop, plan, organize, coordinate, promote, write, speak and produce each event. We are so very thankful to each of our local churches who have hosted conferences for women and for teens over the past few years - Northshore Church and Journey Fellowship Church.
We have become incredibly close friends who love Jesus and want to spread TWU's message of encouragement and hope to as many women and girls as we can. We pray for wisdom and guidance as we continue to grow and as God continues to open doors for TWU. TWU is truly blessed to have these crazy talented and giving women on our Faculty!

ABOUT OUR FAITH
We believe ...

Quoted from
Billy Graham’s Statement of Faith “We believe in using every modern means of communication available to us to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ throughout the world.” "But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things! Since we are living by the Spirit, let us follow the Spirit’s leading in every part of our lives."
~ Galatians 5:22-23, 25 (NLT) ~ |
- To become a Christ-follower, you must realize that you are a sinner and fall short of the glory of God. You must believe Jesus is the Son of God, He died as payment for your sin, God raised Him from the dead, and He now abides at the Fathers right hand in Heaven.
Simply ask Him to come into your heart, save you, and help you live your life for Him! It sounds simple because it is - He died for each of us, we only need to accept His gift of salvation and believe in Him. We cannot earn salvation through good works. It is by His grace alone that we are saved.
If you’ve accepted Christ as your Savior, please let us know so we can also rejoice with the angels in heaven!
